Intentionality…Continued… =)

Life can be so draining can’t it? From school, work, friendships, my boyfriend, roommates, youth group, family, then extracurricular activities, homework, my church family and all the fun nights spent with them, to simply the travel time from place to place, and last, but certainly not least…SLEEP!!!  Each activity requires a new burst of energy and a certain-defined focus. Without the right amount of motivation or discipline, one will certainly slip through your fingers, and either you will come to class unprepared, sleep right through all of it, or lose a friend in the crazy mess called life!

I blogged a while ago about intentionality and that certainly has defined itself in the last week with many of the things listed above…I have been really thinking on this subject of being intentional. A verse that popped into my head when thinking about this was 1 Corinthians 10:31, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

So without further interuptions:

  • Friendships: Being sincere with everyone I come in contact with,  trying not to hate others and trying to love others at all times! I’ve been trying to not make quick judgments about people but really getting to know who they are and their character.
  • My boyfriend: Time to spend with him is limited. I’ve been working on being positive while I’m with him and encouraging him when I’m not. I’ve been working on loving him in different ways then just saying “I love you” but really trying to make the effort to either buy him something that he likes, writing him an encouraging note, telling him how proud of him I am, and maybe cleaning out his car or helping him with a load of laundry.
  • Roommates: I’ve gotten the opportunity to really get to know these girls and I love them! I love being able to listen to their problems and offer advice when they’re needing it. I’ve been working on being more bold in my statements and really pushing them to grow! Its been awesome to see them fall more in love with the Lord this past year and I’m looking forward to the next 2 months! And now I have another lovely roommate who has really blessed me the past and I’m looking forward to getting to be able to just love on her in these next couple of months! God has a way of showering blessings on us, doesn’t he?! =)
  • Youth Group: I’ve never gotten to really work in a youth group before this summer and I am loving these girls! They are amazing!! Each week I feel like I come out of it more blessed then they are. I love being able to take them out to ice cream and coffee and just get to know their hearts! SUCH A BLESSING!!
  • Family: I have realized that I don’t spend as much time with my family as I would like, so I’ve been working on going home more often and just hanging out with nothing after so I don’t have to run off. I love my family and God has seriously blessed our family more then most with love for each other and just a love for the Lord.
  • Sleep: I have been trying to get more sleep! I know this sounds stupid to list sleep in a list with my family and friends, but it is mandatory to be intentional.  I love sleep…ask anyone who is close to me! I could fall asleep anywhere, any time, with music blaring or in complete silence, with the light on or in the pitch black. Sleep is something I have been neglecting…I’m gonna go to bed earlier for a change. =)

    To Be Continued… =)
